ARC CONFERENCE: Wireless plant networks seen as significant development at process industry confab

The significance of wireless technologies as a means to low-cost plant networking was quantified by John Berra, president, Emerson Process Management, in his conference keynote address at the annual ARC Forum. "Wireless, as a self-organizing network," says Berra, "will allow taking measurements and gathering data from plant environments at costs 90-percent less than is common today. This will have a tremendous impact."
