Enagas, OOC complete Quintero purchase

Spain’s Enagas and Oman Oil (OOC) have completed the purchase of a stake in the 2.5mn t/yr Quintero LNG regasification plant in Chile from UK firm BG, the companies announced on 4 September. The Terminal de Valparaiso joint venture, which partners Enagas with 51pc and OOC with 49pc, acquired a 40pc stake in Quintero LNG. The deal brings an end to BG’s efforts to sell its stake in the terminal, and was approved only after the firm reached agreements with the terminal’s three local LNG buyers to renegotiate their long-term LNG supply contracts.
