Petrobras centrifuge system doubles output

Brazil's state-controlled oil company Petrobras has doubled heavy oil output from one of its offshore wells using the submarine centrifuge pumping system (BCSS). The JUB-6 well in the Jubarte field — located in the Espirito Santo section of the Campos basin — is now producing 24,000 b/d. Prior to the deployment of the BCSS system, output was expected to peak at 10,000 b/d, Petrobras says.
