Programmable settings, enhanced functionality and expanded options in cab design are driving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) toward electro-hydraulic steering systems. Manufacturers designing vehicles for the toughest dirtiest and most hazardous off-highway conditions are turning towards a clean and simple solution for steering functionality. The new electro-hydraulic steering system from SKF replaces complex mechanical hydraulic components with simple 'mechatronic' components. These components, enable programmable steering features, enhancements in cab design, ergonomics, and safety, plus advantages in simplified assembly - all at a cost comparable to traditional mechanical hydraulic systems.
