摘要

The Conference Diffusion Fundamentals dealt with one of the basic phenomena of nature,the omnipresent irregular movement of atoms and molecules in matter.More than 10.000 publications per year are devoted to the various aspects of diffusion.The importance and interdisciplinary nature of the subject prompted Professors Joerg.Karger from Leipzig University and Paul Heitjans from Hanover University to organize an interdisciplinary conference covering a range of different aspects of diffusion drawn from various fields of science and engineering.
