Buenos Aires is pushing ahead with plans to change the country’s hydrocarbon law,despite hostility from Argentina’s oil producing provinces. The planning ministry on 11 July presented the main ele-ments of the legislation to foreign oil firms including Chevron, ExxonMobil,Brazil’s Petrobras and China’s Sinopec.The government aims to gain private-sector support for the changes to counter opposition from provincial governments.
