摘要

Rodent parvoviruses, rat virus (RV), H-l, and minute virus of mice (MVM), are known to contaminate trans-plantable tumor cells and cell lines. For instance, Kilham's RV and H-l were originally isolated from cultured cells (1, 2), and orphan mouse parvovirus was recently isolated from lymphocyte lines (3). Infections with these viruses are prevalent among laboratory rodents (4, 5). Careful attention should be paid to contamination of transplantable tumors and cell lines, not only because it interferes with biomedical research but also because these contaminated cells could potentially spread the virus to other cell lines or animals.
