Automated solid phase extraction

摘要

Modern analytical techniques such as LC/MS have extremely high sensitivity,reproducibility and accuracy.The overall reliability of an analytical method however depends not only on the method itself but also on the reproducibility of any pre-analytical sample preparation procedures that may be needed.Solid phase extraction (SPE) is the technique of choice for such sample preparation which is frequently necessary with samples which have complex background matrices,such as food products.Manual SPE methods are labour-intensive and can have poor reproducibility so the recent development of an automatic SPE system promises to be of significant advantage in the analysis of food samples.This report describes the use of such an automatic SPE system in the analysis of antibiotics in food.
