Collaboration is Reshaping the Future of Care

Health care improvements facilitated through partnerships between physicians, patients, pharmaceutical and life science companies are a win-win for everyone. Value-based care, an umbrella term encompassing ideas including accountable care, population health and financial incentives for outcomes, will eventually be the norm for healthcare delivery and reimbursement. To make the shift from fee-for-service to fee-for-value successful, it requires communication and collaboration among all stakeholders in the health care chain - patients, providers, payers and life sciences companies - at a higher level than ever before. The one thing all stakeholders have in common is healthc are IT. All providers are or will be using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Patients are also more likely to log in to a portal to pay their bill or get information. There are great opportunities for innovation through collaboration between these EHRs and pharmaceutical and life science companies.
