Industrial Biotechnology (IB) can be broadly defined as the use of biological resources (such as plants or micro-organisms) to manufacture, process or produce compounds on an industrial scale. It is a truly cross-collaborative discipline, with applications I in everything from food and cosmetics, to inks and materials, and it's already having an impact.
