A major upgrade to a laboratory at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Research Station in Morden, MB, has resulted in its certification as a Plant Pest Containment Level 3 (PPC3) facility. Originally established in 1989 as a containment lab, primarily for research on flax rust, it is the first PPC3 facility to be certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency under the new 'Containment Standards for Facilities Handling Plant Pests' in Canada.
