GENOME CANADA LAUNCHES FUNDING COMPETITION IN PERSONALIZED MEDICI

In partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Genome Canada says it is seeking proposals for large-scale research projects focusing on the application of genomics in the area of personalized health.Up to $67.5 million is available for the competition, with the federal government providing $40 million throughGenome Canada and up to $22.5 million through Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). An additional $5 million is available from the Cancer Stem Cell Consortium (CSCC). To qualify for funding, researchers must obtain matching funding that is at least equal to that provided through the competition.
