Trial gives ID card scheme the go-ahead

According to a recent Government announcement,results from a six-month trial into facial,iris and fingerprint recognition technology will form the basis for the planned national identity card scheme.The outcomes of the trial will also help the Government set out plans to introduce biometric passports and driving licenses.
