Novel technique to stop organ rejection

For the first time it may be possible to prevent transplant rejection by using a method of redirecting the body's immune system instead of suppressing it.The study led by Imperial College London shows it is possible,in mice,to alter the specialisation of T-cells,from a cell which attacks foreign tissue,thereby causing a donated organ to be rejection,to instead become a defensive cell,which patrols the body and defends against attack from foreign material.
