I write in response to Mario Christodoulou's feature1 about threats to the vital support provided by neurological nurse specialists in the UK. As the chief executive of Young Epilepsy, a UK charity working to improve health and education services for young people with epilepsy, I wholeheartedly support the arguments presented in the report, which highlighted the individualised care and cost benefits that specialist nurses bring to the health-care team.
