Ohe email was all it took to convince illustrator Kelly Thompson she wanted to visit Melbourne. One visit was all it took to convince her she wantedto live there.Kelly had been living in Wellington with her partner, restaurateur Christian McCabe, when an email landed in her inbox from a Melbourne gallery. Her work had been getting exposure across the Tasman and the gallery invited her to do a solo exhibition."I came for about a week, and I thought, 'Hey, this is a really great town/" says Kelly. "I really loved how friendly everyone was here. There's definitely a supportive creative environment, and there was so much to see. I wanted to come back."
