摘要

What started as a casual stroll through an open home late one afternoon turned into an enormous project for Tony and Jo Brady of Christchurch. The first time the couple set eyes on their then unattractive old Merivale villa they knew instinctively that it could be transformed. "We felt the proportions were amazing, despite how dated it was on the inside," says Jo. They had attended the auction on the spur of the moment but Jo was left to bid alone when Tony was held up at work. She put her hand up and ended up owning the villa, much to her surprise. The only problem was they still had to sell their house, though it all fell into place as if it was part of a greater plan. The next morning a real estate agent introduced a buyer to their home and it was sold before they had time to stress about suddenly owning two family homes.
