摘要

Pinned on the wall of Pip Reid's garden shed is a hand-lettered notice: "Being happy is dirt under your fingernails, wearing your old clothes, giving plants away, wet knees." The shed isn't part of Pip's regular garden visitors' tour, but it's an interesting place to visit if one happens to find the door open, not least for this gardeners' manifesto. "It is dangerous," the sign continues, "to explain this pleasure to a non-gardener."
