Living the look: Fashion historian Doris de Pont lets colour set the tone in her vibrant Grey Lynn villa

There's a 1950s blue and white cotton swimsuit, pristine behind a glass frame. A clothes rack is a froth of colourful sundresses and playsuits and, on a nearby dresser, a hatstand hosts a bathing cap covered in plastic daisies. "The two front rooms ofour house used to be our children Micky and Ana's bedrooms," says former clothes designer turned curator and fashion historian Doris de Pont. "Now they function as the storeroom and office of the New Zealand Fashion Museum. Very official," she says, laughing.
