Forty-five years ago, Kevin Bargh's dad got his hands on the farmhouse his wife had always admired. "Mum used to look at it driving past and always said she'd love to live there. Then, quite by chance, Dad heard the farm was up for lease, so he got it," says Kevin.Back then the three-bedroom homestead could be seen from the rural road that runs from outside Featherston, through Kahutara, down towards Palliser Bay. Now, in a new millennium and with a new generation in situ, trees mask the house from the road, but the charm that attracted Kevin's mum remains.
