Ten years ago New Zealanders Andrew and Sue Bascand returned home after living in England, where Andrew had worked as an investment manager. "Eight years of commuting on the 5.50am train to London doesn't give you much chance for quality family time so we decided to return to our roots," says Andrew. They were keen to live in a sheltered, sunny spot close to the sea, and they wanted a family home, a garden and a friendly community. "Lowry Bay fitted the bill exactly," says Sue.
