Down to earth: Garden designer and author Tracy DiSabato-Aust combines border patrol with a late-blooming passion for triathlons

If you need proof that gardening keeps you young, Tracy DiSabato-Aust can offer it in spades. The vivacious forty-eight-year-old American garden designer and author - not to mention nationally competitive triathlete - is infectiously enthusiastic about all aspects of horticulture. "I'm so passionate about plants and landscape design. Gardening keeps me juiced," she says. Tracy is the author of the international best seller The Well-Tended Perennial Garden and one of the keynote speakers at the biennial New Zealand Landscape and Garden Design Conference in Auckland in September.
