Richard Baron, MD, is the group director, Seamless Care Models, Innovation Center at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In this role, he is responsible for innovative Accountable Care Organization models and models of high value, comprehensive primary care. The Innovation Center's mission is to help transform Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) through improvements in the health care system. The Innovation Center has the resources and flexibility to identify, develop, rapidly test, and encourage widespread adoption of innovative care and payment models, laying the groundwork for a broader transformation of our health care system to one that delivers better health care at lower costs.
