摘要

This short paper is the inauguration address for installing Dr. Peter Walker as the first Irwin H. Rosenberg Professor of Nutrition and Human Security at Tufts University. The key determinants of human security over the next generation are discussed. The applied research approaches that the Feinstein International Centre, which is where this new chair is located, will pursue in promoting human security are highlighted. Finally, this paper reflects on the challenges in pursuing this particular type of work through scientific research..
