Healthcare professionals are inadequately trained on sexual orientation and ethnicity - and frequently assume that everyone from black and minority ethnic backgrounds is heterosexual, say researchers.A study by the charity Stonewall and the Runnymede Trust think tank found presumptions about the sexuality of black and minority ethnic (BME) patients can deter lesbian, gay or bisexual people with those backgrounds from using health services.
