摘要

As soon as the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) announced plans to increase its registration fee by 58 per cent, the regulator was inundated with calls to stop the hike. Nurses say they cannot afford to increase their payment from £76 to £120. The proposed increase is planned for January 1 and, if agreed, will raise around £29.4 million a year for the nurse regulator's coffers, taking its annual income to £81 million.
