On a Finite Element Method for Unsteady Compressible Viscous Flows

In this article we present an analysis of a finite element method for solving two-dimensional unsteady compressible Navier-Stokes equations. Under the time-stepping size restriction △t ≤ Ch, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the numerical solution and obtain an a prior error estimate uniform in time.
