Shell structure of Be and Li isotopes studied by electroweak probes

The shell structure of Be and Li isotopes is studied. The magnetic moment of Be-11 is analyzed and compared with a recent measurement. A value of alpha(2) approximate to 0.65 is obtained for the probability of the Be-10 (0(+)) X 1(s1/2)> component in the wave function of Be-11. Coulomb displacement energies of the isobaric analog states of Be-11 and Be-14 are investigated, and the need for the halo and the configuration of the halo wave functions are discussed. Effects of the halo in the hyperfine anomaly in Be and C isotopes are studied. The anomaly is shown to be enhanced for the halo nuclei Be-11 and C-19. Gamow-Teller transitions from Be-12 and Li-11 are studied and the large breaking of the p-shell core in N=8 nuclei is pointed out. [References: 22]
