Stainless prices down except in China

Prices weakened in all major markets other than China, where gains were supported byimproved confiídence on the back of several supportive policies. In the US, order volumes forrestocking are most notable for austenitic material, as end-user inventories for ferritic gradesare reported to be already elevated. All-in prices in the European market declined slightly,driven down by lower alloy surcharges and ongoing demand softness. While the outlook for end-use demand remains weak, there is a scope for apparent demand improvement.
