We have performed shell model Monte Carlo (SMMC) calculations of even-even, odd-A and odd-odd nuclei in the mass A similar to 70 region as function of temperature. The calculations have been performed in the complete (pf - gds) shell using a pairing + quadrupole residual interaction. We calculate the level densities for these nuclei and investigate the influence of pairing correlations. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
