The uranium spot price weakened for the fourth consecutive week, losing 23￠ to finish at $38.54 per pound U3O8, according to NIW’s Uranium Price Panel. Market participants were optimistic heading into the World Nuclear Fuel Cycle conference in Prague that market activity would pick up, and despite one producer telling NIW this week that a number of “quiet deals” were concluded at the conference, the spot price continues to drift away from $40/lb.
