Nursing regulation: A relevant force for 2020

摘要

WITHOUT A DOUBT, the issues of patient safety, consistent high-quality care, and cost containment have been at the heart of the health care reform movement. Patients have become the drivers of care with expectations that providers at all levels are safe and competent and have patients' best interest at heart and that patients will be informed and participate in decisions affecting them. Accessing care, having providers of their choosing, understanding billing processes and insurance coverage, and not being restricted from participating fully in the health care processes are all outcomes of the increasing involvement of consumer advocacy groups.
