Potato varieties '98. Acceptance of planting material in Germany.

As of 1 April 1998, 169 potato varieties were registered by the Bundessortenamt (federal variety office) in Germany, including 16 new releases. Varieties and their resistance to the most important potato diseases are listed. In addition, 56 varieties of EU origin were released for propagation in Germany, although they are not considered as registered varieties. In 1997, 51 varieties dominated 80% of the propagation area.
