German studies in Niedersachsen showed that free living nematodes (Pratylenchus spp. and Tylenchorhynchus spp.) were not the main cause of potato decline in the Weser-Ems region. More important were aphids (either as vectors of plant viruses or as insect pests) and recommended insecticides are listed. Potato blight [Phytophthora infestans] control is discussed and recommended fungicides are tabulated..
