WHO predicts that by year 2030 unipolar depressive disorder and ischaemic heart disease will be the two leading causes of Disablity Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) in high-income countries (1). At the same time, several studies have shown that currently both the detection and the treatment of depression suffer from shortcomings. All this means that we will have to work hard in order to conquer this often devastating disorder.
