摘要

In this study a new type of freezing container for the cryopreservation of human red blood cells is presented. This container shows an increased heat transfer resulting from direct contact between the freezing bag and the refrigerant. The results show that sufficiently high cooling rates of at least 200K/min can be achieved with this container even in samples of 10mm thickness. A reduction of the cross-section of the fins allows the variation of the cooling rate in a certain range. This makes it possible to use the freezing container for applications, where lower cooling rates are required for cryopreservation.
