Limitations for thermal loads in office buildings with ventilation through windows

摘要

Within the framework of a Ph.D. thesis at the Hermann-Rietschel-Institute, Technical University Berlin experimental and analytic studies for the ventilation with openable windows were made. The results describe the possibilities and limits for free ventilation by windows. They can be a basis for the decision to install an HVAC-System or not. With a special building design and reduced cooling loads the period of using the ventilation by windows can be extended.
