NASA Unveils Web-Based Guide to Purchasing Low-Noise Equipment

A new tool developed for NASA by Nelson Acoustics and Gelfand Design is designed to guide the agency's purchase of low-noise equipment that is efficient, cost-effective, and safe. Meant to complement "buy-quiet" programs in effect at NASA's 14 field centers and facilities in support of its hearing conservation program, the new tool features a cost-of-noise analysis that enables comparisons among vendors and products with the long-term costs of noise exposure.
