FAA Challenged on FONSI for Hillsboro Airport Third Runway

Oregon Aviation Watch (OAW) and five individuals filed a notice of intent to appeal the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) issued by FAA for construction of a third runway at Hillsboro Airport (HIO), Hillsboro, Ore. The project has been on hold since 2011, when the U.S. Court of Appeals remanded a previous EA/FONSI, ordering FAA to consider noise and any other environmental impacts of increased demand caused by the expansion project.
