European Research Project Aims to Reduce Rail Noise

Organizers of QUIET-TRACK presented results of the 36-month project at a final dissemination conference last month, including: effective track-based rolling noise mitigating solutions for trams, regional trains, surface metro, and trains in an urban environment; rolling noise calculation strategies; and maintenance and management tools for cost-optimized noise reduction for urban railway networks.
