Designing the interior of cars consists of both the job of creating harmony between humans and machines and styling in the aesthetic sense, and these two are intricately related. Packaging is also an important part of the designer's work for giving concrete form to the concept. The question is not simply physical space - only the designer can create a comfortable interior. The designs of the interiors of the concept cars displayed at recent motor shows are very elaborate, but for some reason few of them are fresh. Many of them are such that I would not want to be shut up in them for long periods of time.
