Dr Steve Thompson has been elected the new chairman of Motu Economic and Public Policy Research Trust.He replaces Dr Grant Scobie who has been in the position for the last six years.Dr Thompson has a long involvement in New Zealand's research community.He is the current chief executive of the Royal Society of New Zealand and was previously the chief executive of the Foundation for Research,Science and Technology for a number of years.
