Conductivity measurement is the easiest means of determining that the water purification system has produced water devoid of dissolved salts. Conductivity is a measure of water's capability to pass electrical flow. Traditionally the measurement was as Resistivity, the water's opposition to the flow of a current over distance. Both properties directly related to the concentration of ions in the water. These conductive ions typically come from dissolved salts and inorganic materials such as alkalis, Chlorides, Sulfides and Carbonate compounds.
