Sustainable Steel Construction: Building a Better Future, the steel construction sector strategy document, was formally launched at the Kensington Hilton, London, on 4 December by Elizabeth Whatmore, Head of the Construction Sector Unit at the Department of Trade and Industry. Developed by the Steel Construction Sector Sustainability Committee (SCSSC) and led by Corus, the SCI and BCSA, the voluntary strategy sets out how the sector plans to become more sustainable. The strategy has been developed as part of the Sustainable Development Commission's Pioneers Group and is in line with the government's national sustainable development agenda.
