The Advisory Desk has been made aware ofsome concerns about the use of alkali-zincsilicate paint in slip resistant connections, suchthat the structural reliability of the slip resistantconnection might be compromised. There isas yet no published data about the frictionalresistance of surfaces when the coating isapplied in normal production conditions (ratherthan closely controlled test conditions) butinstances of significantly lower slip factors (thanrecommended) have been experienced in practice.
