Tube shipments decreased through February

In four out of the five product categories, North American shipments of steel tube for the year to date through February declined compared with the year before, says the Steel Tube Institute of North America. Shipments of pressure tubing fell by more than 25 percent compared with last year. Stainless tubing and standard pipe 4 inches and under each dropped by 11-15 percent. Mechanical tubing was down by 6-10 percent. Structural tubing, however, increased by 3-5 percent.
