2007 Graduation Works of Japanese Design Schools: The New Trends Borne From a Diversity of Interchanges

"Tetsuson", a joint exhibit of graduation works by university and college students in the areas of design, art and architecture, was held this year from March 15 to 19. The theme this year was "Talk", apparently chosen with the hope of deepening interchanges among the participating students and also with visitors. Students from 32 schools participated, including students from Australia like last year, but also from a Korean university, a first. The total number of participants was approximately 150. The event was held this year at ZAIM in Yokohama. ZAIM was formerly the building housing the Kanto Finance Bureau and the Labor Standards Bureau, and was remodeled and put at the disposal of citizens for artistic activities. In addition to being used as an exhibit hall, ZAIM is also a place for creative activities by artists and creators and a center for networking.
