X-ray examination of the cervical spine according to Gutmann

The foundation of manual diagnostics regarding the cervical region is the morphological and functional analysis of conventional X-rays. Gutmann developed a standard examination, which can demonstrate the individual cervical posture. The biomechanical conditions for examinations are strictly defined. The prerequisite for firmly establishing a high-quality examination in daily practice is a training programme for doctors and the medical staff. Using this X-ray examination, the large yield of information justifies the minimally higher instrumentational expenditure.
