Quality monitoring with indicators. Perspectives of quality assurance (not only) in practices specialized in oncology

abstract_textpHematologists and oncologists in specialized practices have been cooperating for several years on common approaches in quality assurance. Developing reliable instruments for the data-based quality monitoring is of vital importance, not only with regard to outpatient cancer care. This paper focuses on the state of development of quality indicators for oncology. As only a few clinical quality indicators are available at present for a comparative monitoring of cancer care services, oncologists and the professional bodies in Germany should contribute to promote further developments based on international experiences./p/abstract_text
