摘要

Astiff westerly blows up the Fraser River as a shore crew finishes loading 26 tons of ice and we prepare to leave the community of Steveston, south of Vancouver, British Columbia, for the last trip of the hake fishery season. "It's been OK," Esko Huopalainen, 56, skipper of the 100-foot trawler Royal Canadian, says as we pull out from the dock. "We've been managing to get our fish fairly consistently. It's just the last few weeks that have been kind of testy."
